After nearly three decades with Ede’s, we mark an important moment in our history: the retirement of our Transport Manager, Andy Waters, whose leadership and experience have shaped our operations since 1996.Andy began his journey with us as an HGV driver. From the very start, he demonstrated a rare combination of technical skill, professionalism, and dependability. He understood the responsibility that comes with the role, safeguarding crew, vehicles, client assets, schedules, and the reputation of the business.His dedication and capability led to his progression into the Transport Manager position. Over the years, Andy became central to the way our transport operations function. He built strong relationships with colleagues, managed the demands of a busy fleet, and brought forward improvements that strengthened the business.One of the defining features of Andy’s career was his ability to evolve with the times. During his tenure, the industry changed dramatically. He oversaw the modernisation of the fleet, the introduction of digital tachographs, new planning systems, and advanced telematics. He supported our move towards more sustainable fuel models, including the adoption of HVO, ensuring that environmental progress went hand-in-hand with safety and performance. Through every transition, Andy worked with intention: making sure drivers understood the technology, processes were properly introduced, and standards were protected.Those who worked with him will know the kind of leader Andy was.
