Macfarlanes brief was to ensure the minimum of disruption to core business during the moves of 700 staff between four separate locations.
Ede’s provided a highly experienced move manager to work closely with MacFarlane’s team.
Following site visits and departmental meetings, our move manager compiled a detailed schedule which considered any interdependencies between departments and buildings.
All moves were completed during two consecutive weekends on time and on budget.
The moves included full packing and unpacking of filing in sequential order.
Around 3000 crates were used which were recycled on site. The careful planning and management allowed a significant reduction of crates needed on site at anyone time, which would have been 6000 otherwise.
Our Move Manager was available onsite throughout all phases and oversaw all moves.
Once an internal departmental move team had been established, our dedicated Move Manager briefed all relevant stakeholders on the roles and responsibilities that each member of the team had, to enable a successful relocation process.
He outlined specifics such as details of safe working routes, points of access and egress, muster points, onsite Health and Safety regulations, and the provision of warning signs. Our escalation of problems process was also provided and confirmed at this time.
All key information was clearly communicated with Macfarlanes stakeholders and our personnel.
On completion of the pre-move meetings, all action dates were confirmed with our operations department, and the resources required for this project were booked in.
Our Project Manager pre-arranged parking dispensations with parking services where required, which allowed us to position our vehicles as near to the building as possible. We also placed warnings signs to protect and inform members of the public whilst we were completing all elements of the project.
