The Project

Global Data commissioned the relocation of five lorry loads of office furniture and assets from Tootal Buildings, 56 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 6EU, to two central London destinations:

• John Carpenter House, John Carpenter Street, London, EC4Y 0AN
• Unilever plc, 100 Victoria Embankment, London, EC4Y 0DH

The scope of works included the dismantling, transportation, and reinstallation of a wide variety of items, including desks, IT kits, monitor arms, meeting room furniture (tables, cabinets, and chairs), team tables, phone booths, and sofa units.

The Process

The project commenced on Monday, 4th August 2025 with a team of 11 crew members, including HGV drivers, crew managers, fitters, and porters, supported by 18-ton vehicles.

• Day 1 (Monday): Furniture and IT assets were dismantled, packed, and loaded for transport. Our fitters disassembled desk clusters, team tables, and meeting room tables, and packed approximately 50 IT kits and monitor arms with protective materials. Three vehicles departed Manchester for London that evening.
• Day 2 (Tuesday): A London-based crew unloaded and positioned the first deliveries according to client instructions. In Manchester, the team continued loading additional furniture, including phone booths, sofa units, cabinets, and chairs. Once loading was complete, the remaining vehicles returned to our premises, where assets were securely stored overnight for onward delivery.
• Day 3 (Wednesday): At John Carpenter House, our fitters reassembled desks, team tables, and meeting room furniture. Workstations were set up in preparation for IT equipment to be placed back onto the desks.
• Day 4 (Thursday): The final deliveries were made to John Carpenter House and Unilever plc. IT kits were unpacked and reinstalled onto the reassembled desks, and meeting room furniture was positioned as specified, completing the relocation of all five lorry loads.

Sequential loading and unloading ensured an efficient process, while careful handling and secure storage safeguarded all assets throughout the move.

The Outcome

The relocation was completed on time and within budget. Desks, meeting room furniture, and IT equipment were dismantled, transported, and reassembled to a high standard, leaving both workstations and shared spaces fully operational and ready for immediate use. Our professional planning, skilled workforce, and attention to detail ensured that Global Data’s transition to their new London locations was carried out smoothly and efficiently.
