The project involved Ede's taking over relocation and support services for KBR (formerly Kellogg Brown and Root) after a decline in service from the incumbent provider. The scope included daily porterage services, moving staff, furniture, and IT between buildings, and providing furniture storage with an online inventory system. The contract was secured through a competitive tender process involving four companies, with work commencing on 2 January 2025.
Ede’s Business Manager, Michael leveraging 12 years of prior experience managing the KBR account, initiated the bid after discussions with KBR representatives. Following an invitation to tender on 5 November 2024, Ede's submitted their proposal by 5 December 2024, outlining enhanced service offerings. The tender, received on 20 November 2024 and accepted on 10 December 2024, positioned Ede's to outperform the incumbent and three other competitors. Their approach emphasized reliable porterage, efficient staff and equipment relocation, and a modern storage solution with online tracking.
Ede's successfully regained the KBR account, with the contract awarded on 10 December 2024 and works starting on 2 January 2025. The transition restored high-quality service levels, addressing the previous decline. Daily porterage, inter-building moves, and furniture storage with an online inventory were implemented effectively, meeting KBR’s operational needs and re-establishing a strong client relationship as of the project’s outset.
